Privacy Policy

This website is operated by Diana Thomson, a sole proprietor operating as KiteApp, based in Canada. Diana Thomson is the data controller responsible for the information collected through getkiteapp.com. You can reach us at privacy@getkiteapp.com.

When you join our early-access list, we collect your name and email address. During onboarding you may also choose to tell us the category of work you do and the subjects or services you offer. We do not ask for sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not enter any in free-text fields.

To contact you about KiteApp early access and launch, and to understand, in aggregate, the kinds of work independent operators do so we can build and improve the product. We also use analytics to understand how people use the site so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

We collect and use your information based on the consent you give when you submit the form. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Your rights).

Your information is stored with Supabase, a third-party database host, on servers in Canada. Some of the other services listed below may process it outside Canada, including in the United States. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we limit who can access it.

Only with the providers that help us run the early-access program:

• Supabase: secure database storage
• MailerLite: to manage our early-access email list and send you launch updates
• Vercel: website hosting and privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic and performance analytics
• Microsoft Clarity: website analytics and session replay, so we can see how visitors use the site and improve it

Each only receives what it needs, and we may disclose information if required by law.

We keep your information until KiteApp launches and for a reasonable period after, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing privacy@getkiteapp.com. In Canada, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Users in the EEA or UK may complain to their local data protection authority.

Early access is intended for adults (18+) who provide services. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site through aggregated analytics, heatmaps, and session replay. Clarity sets cookies and may record how you interact with pages; it masks the text you type by default. We also use Vercel analytics for traffic and performance, which is cookieless. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Visitors in the EU, the UK, and Quebec are asked to accept before we load Clarity, and we do not load it unless they do. Everywhere else, we honor the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends it, we do not load Clarity. You can also limit this by blocking cookies in your browser, and you can email us with any questions.

We may update this policy and will post the revised version here with a new effective date.
